Oh wow. There is so much good here. I haven’t even gotten around to listening to all it. As I’m writing this, I’m enjoying OMD, a band I’ve been meaning to listen to for ages. What a surprising gem this particular album is! Other highlights: TVOTR (thank the stars it doesn’t sound like Dear Science!), Prince Rama, and The Tallest Man on Earth.
I also got the new Panda Bear album but I’m not listening to it until April 12. Or is it now being released on April 19? Either way, I want to dedicate an evening and a glass of wine to Mr. Noah Lennox. He totally deserves it.
Pitchfork: Articles: You Were There: The Complete LCD Soundsystem
Ding ding ding! Scott Plagenhoef absolutely nails it — and by it, I mean an entire decade of indie culture — at the end of Pitchfork’s epic LCD Soundsystem send-off.

Ever since being introduced to Brian Eno, I’ve been obsessed. I look for him everywhere & find his influence to be far reaching. However, there are times when I actively seek him out, like when I get the Talking Heads albums More Songs About Buildings and Food that he produced. I got this album after learning that he did not, sadly, produced my favorite Bowie album, Low. Tony Visconti, you did a fine job sir.
The soundtrack for Fantastic Planet or La Planete Sauvage is weird & unexpected. It’s been wonderful for writing & studying, which seems to be my life lately.

Times have been a little rough in this part of the world. And while normally I’d escape into music, it’s been hard to listen to music. What a tragedy. Typically, I’ll listen to music & experience a connection, relationship with the world but lately listening to music has felt like a wet blanket tossed on my thoughts. I should also mention I’m working on a very important, complicated, difficult project. These days favor quiet furniture music.
Its been 3 years since Noble Beast. I miss Andrew Bird’s music.*
*Let me explain: I listen to his music, I look through pictures of him, & I am overcome with an intense respect and adoration. Sure, he may be one of a few men that I find incredibly handsome, but that is only augmented by his awesome talent. I bet he smells nice too. I just wish he’d release another album. I miss the sounds of his violin.

Causers of This - Toro Y Moi
I had an ex once who brought to my attention that I hate being told what to do. And he was right. I do hate it. Any “you should…” statement makes me bristle. That’s one reason why I waited so long to get Causers of This. It seems as though a large percentage of music blogs have been pushing Toro Y Moi. I rebelled against it & ignored any singles that were released. But eventually, they wore me down. And you know what? I’m glad they did!
